The Magic Of Professor Know-Y Visits Pinitos Preschool Boca Raton

Boo To You Spooktacular A Hit With The Kids!

I can honestly say I enjoyed Friday’s Spooktacular as much as the kids! To see them all dressed up in their costumes was adorable, but the best part was seeing their reaction to their friend’s and teacher’s costumes. We have some very creative parents who came up with awesome costume ideas! Thanks to the incredible preparation and organization of our teaching team, the day was truly spoooktacular!

In addition to the cookie and cupcake decorating, classroom parties and Halloween games, the children enjoyed a trick-or-treat parade through the school where they collected goodies for the treat bags they created earlier in the week.

Our sincere thanks to all of the parents who contributed their time and assisted with party supplies and food. I also want to send a special thank you to our teachers who always go the extra mile to make sure our celebrations are fun, educational and unique. I want to give recognition to all of the personal time they dedicated. We truly have a special group of teachers who worked together to make things Spooktacular!

KinderMotion comes to Pinitos!

We had a visit from KinderMotion today - a great fitness, music and dance program made specifically for preschool-age kids.

Every child had an opportunity to participate and have fun. Kindermotion was developed in 1979 by Carol Kay Harsell. An expert in early childhood education and once a dancer with the New York City Ballet Company, Harsell saw a unique need for a developmentally appropriate program that combined fitness, dance, music and health education for young children. We invited Kindermotion to bring this unique program to Pinitos to add to our extra-curricular offerings here at the school. We loved the way Kindermotion combines movement and music with athletics and academics.

Mrs. Gloria’s cooking activity was a big hit!

Our little bakers in Mrs. Gloria’s class had a ball with flour and dough last week! They rolled it into an oval, our shape of the week, and had a chance to feel the texture and mold it. Some seemed to enjoy it more then others!

It’s Career Week at Pinitos!

A huge thanks to the Palm Beach County Fire Department, Captain Mark Ator of JetBlue Airlines and Dr. Tara Dennis of Premier Women’s Healthcare. The kids truly enjoyed all you shared with them this week. Captain Mark gave all of the kids their own wings to take home and told them all about how he flies the airplane. Dr. Tara let all the children use her stethoscope and explained that she helps mommy’s get the babies out of their tummies. The Palm Beach County Fire Department came by with their big red fire truck and paramedics vehicle and they let us see inside!

Pinitos Preschool End Of Summer Spectacular - The Circus Is In Town!

Summer has come to an end and in celebration all of our classes held special activities and an ice cream party with our “Circus” theme. For the week’s arts and crafts project each child made their own costume, which they wore at the end of the week for the big party and parade. We had clowns, lions, tigers, elephants, bears, princesses and even butterflies! It was a wonderful day for everyone.

We will greatly miss our summer camp kids as they head back to elementary school in the fall. Good luck to you all and we’ll see you next year! Thank you to all of our teachers who made this event so special for everyone - working through many lunches and evenings to make things just right. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Next post…..first week of the new 2009-2010 school year!

Chickens, Goats and Pigs - OH MY!

Last week was an exciting one with many highlights. The greatest of which was the petting zoo right in our playground! Our weekly theme was “Life on the farm”, so it only seemed fitting to give the kids a first-hand look at many of the animals found there. Each of the children had an opportunity to hold a duck, chicken, rooster or bunny. They could also pet a pig, a pony or a goat. It was absolutely amazing to see the genuine smiles on all the faces (kids and teachers alike)!

As part of their weekly science lesson, Miss Sandra’s class even made butter with a mason jar and a marble! Go Miss Sandra!
